Problem
An energy and infrastructure provider struggled with an organizational culture that emphasized safety and stability over agility and innovation. The organization risked falling behind the shift to new technologies and ways of working.
Solution
As part of an international team of consultants, we designed and delivered leadership transformation journeys for the top management team. We then rolled out the programs to middle management. We engaged employees at all levels in team transformation workshops.
The transformation journeys challenged people to share their own development stories, including challenges, setbacks, and triumphs. We focused on how to bring new ways of working to the organization. Agile coaches supported teams in finding their best ways of working.
Impact
The benefits of the leadership journeys were immediately apparent. Several divisions adopted new ways of working, breaking down hierarchical structures, forming self-directed cross-functional, international teams. The company is successfully transforming itself into an agile, purpose-driven organization.
